At ASE, we strive to make our students and parents feel welcome. And we are proud of our longstanding tradition of academic excellence. It's going to be a great year!

ASE Book Drive/Family Reading Night:
From now through the end of February, we are having a book drive in conjunction with Read Across America in March. If you have books that your children have outgrown or if you’d like to donate a book, we will collect them to use for our first-ever Family Reading Night, which will be held on Thursday, March 1 at 6 p.m. in our gym. Family Reading Night is designed to encourage a love of reading among children and will take on an “Around the World” theme to highlight the variety of countries represented at ASE. Guest readers, including Mayor Gene McGee, will read passages of a favorite Dr. Seuss book in four languages. There will be four different activity and literacy stations, and children will enjoy a light snack of “Hop on Pop” popcorn and juice. At the end of the night, each child will get to select a book from the Book Drive.
Symphony Informances:
In February and March, ASE first- and second-graders will get the opportunity to experience informances by ensembles from the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. The informances will include a brass quintet on February 21, a string quartet on March 5 and a woodwind quartet on March 26.
Box Tops For Education:
Please remember to save your Box Tops, which are found on specially marked products, to help our school earn money throughout the year. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents of free money for ASE. What a wonderful way for our families, as well as the community, to support us through this important fundraiser. Congratulations to the classes that collected the most Box Tops for the months of December and January:
Kindergarten – C. Sims (1,031)
First Grade – Polk (336)
Second Grade – G. Sims (1,179)
